This year, let’s give back to the community by REFUNDing the Police!

Dear Patriots,
Firstly, I know this has been a VERY quiet year from me and from #WalkAway. This is not by choice. Most people who know me know I have an obsessive work ethic and I’m gaga about the work I do for #WalkAway and contributing to shifting the landscape of our culture and politics. We’ve taken a deliberate step back all year this year to allow my legal case to be worked out. December 17th is my sentencing date, and we are hopeful that will be instrumental in bringing a close to that chapter that we’re anxious to move forward from.
As many of you know, every holiday season #WalkAway puts forward an initiative to give back to the community (somebody got grouchy with me yesterday for saying “holiday season” and not “Christmas season”- so, to clarify- we begin our give back initiatives at Thanksgiving [holiday] and end them on New Year’s Day [holiday]- thus, HOLIDAY season. Let’s not get distracted by being nit-picky about the small stuff). In previous years, we’ve done our #WalkItForward initiative, asking you all to engage in random acts of kindness and share your videos on our page. But this year we are doing something different, but absolutely just as important- because it affects a community that has been under attack for almost 2 solid years, and a movement in this country that has made us ALL less safe and our country more destabilized.
The community I’m speaking of is America’s law enforcement officers. Our men and women in blue.

In the past couple of years, the political left has created a movement vilifying law enforcement and parlayed that messaging into policy which has led to massive spikes in dangerous crime.
It is up to US, common sense Americans to do the right thing. Obviously, we can not even count on conservative leadership to right this wrong.
We can not simply “forget” about what’s happening to police budgets just because conservative cable news has lost interest in telling this story. The damage is still being done every single day, and it’s making all of us less safe and turning our country more and more into an unrecognizable war zone.
One of the most painful things for me personally about my legal case this year is that the media who hates you and me and our country has used my case as an excuse to portray me as anti-law enforcement. That is honestly the thing that has hurt me the most this past year. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Not only do we have an opportunity to stand up for law enforcement now, while so many others in the conservative movement have all but forgotten this problem, but we can show the world in a big way-
#WalkAway GIVES A DAMN ABOUT OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM!
