It appears that the rhetoric of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris does not match up with reality.
According to 2021 tax returns, both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris gave less to charity than those at a similar level of income.
Joe Biden gave $17,394 to charity which was about 2.8% of his and Jill’s income.
Kamala Harris was even worse — she and her husband gave only 1.3% of their income to charity.
President Biden and Vice President Harris each gave less to charity than the average taxpayer for their level of earnings, with Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff donating far below what most in their high income bracket contribute, according to their 2021 tax returns released Friday.
The poorest Americans were far more generous than either couple.
Joe Biden has a history of giving very little to charity.
In the years before he became Vice President Biden gave less than 1% of his total income to charity.
Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden and his wife gave an average of $369 a year to charity during the past decade, his tax records show.

The Bidens reported giving $995 in charitable donations last year — about 0.3% of their income and the highest amount in the past decade. The low was $120 in 1999, about 0.1% of yearly income.
Over the decade, the Bidens reported a total of $3,690 in charitable donations, or 0.2% of their income.
