DICK’S Sporting Goods Announces it Will Provide Up to $4,000 For Employees’ Abortion-Related Travel Expenses

DICK’S Sporting Goods on Friday announced it will provide abortion-related travel expenses for employees affected by the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

Abortion laws will now be decided by the states.

DICK’S Sporting Goods is one of the many woke companies to announce financial assistance for employees seeking an out-of-state abortion.

“In response to today’s ruling, we are announcing that if the state you live in restricts access to abortion, DICK’S Sporting Goods will provide up to $4,000 in travel expense reimbursement to travel to the nearest location where that care is legally available,” the company’s executive leadership said in a statement.

“This benefit will be provided to any teammate, spouse or dependent enrolled in our medical plan, along with one support person.”

DICK’S Sporting Goods CEO Lauren Hobart admitted there will be employees who disagree with the company’s decision to pay for abortion-related travel expenses.

Walt Disney Company also sent a memo to employees saying they would pay for the travel costs of employees seeking abortions.

“Our company remains committed to removing barriers and providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care for all of our employees, cast members and their families, including family planning and reproductive care, no matter where they live,” Disney executives said in a memo, which was reported by CNBC.

The memo continued: “In fact, we have processes in place so that an employee who may be unable to access care in one location has affordable coverage for receiving similar levels of care in another location.”
