Autopsy of Orange County Lawyer Extorted by Rosarito Beach Police One Hour Before He Was Found Dead in Mexico Released

The autopsy of a California lawyer who was found dead in Mexico one hour after he was extorted by Rosarito police has been released – aggravated homicide.

Orange County public defender Elliot Blair was found dead in Rosarito, Mexico last month under suspicious circumstances.

Elliot Blair, 33, and his wife Kim Williams, also a public defender, were in Rosarito celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary.

The two were driving back to their hotel room when they were pulled over by Rosarito police for supposedly rolling through a stop sign.

Local Mexican police shook the couple down for more than the $160 in cash they offered, according to reports.

The police finally accepted the $160 and 90 minutes later Elliot Blair was found dead at the Las Rocas Resort and Spa.

Elliot was found dead on his right side with his face down, sustained 40 skull fractures to the back of his head and “road rash” on his knees – this directly contradicts statements by local authorities claiming the attorney fell from his hotel room balcony that was 25 feet from the ground.

The family requested a second autopsy.

Fox News reported:

The death of an Orange County public defender in Mexico last month was described in an autopsy released Thursday as an aggravated homicide.

An autopsy for 33-year-old Blair performed in Mexico showed the lawyer sustained 40 fractures to the back of his skull as well as “road rash” on his knees and a toe injury, which indicated he was dragged, Blair family attorney Case Barnett said.

The results contradict statement from authorities indicating Blair died from a fall from a balcony at the Rosarito Beach resort where the couple was staying, Barnett said.

“He’s not going to have a toe injury and injuries to the back of his head as a result of a fall,” Barnett said.

Blair was found dead at the Las Rocas Resort and Spa in Rosarito Beach on Jan. 14. Blair and his wife Kim Williams, also a public defender, were celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary.

The couple’s room at the resort was located about 20 to 25 feet from the ground, Barnett said, and Blair was found on his right side with his face down, making it unlikely the injuries were suffered from a fall.

Blair’s blood-alcohol level was 0.10, which is two points higher than the legal limit for driving in California, but he did not show any signs of being drunk, according to his friends and wife, Barnett said.

More from Fox 11:

The US State Department has issued a series of travel advisories in the last several weeks over cartel violence, kidnappings and grisly murders in Mexico.

The State Department urged US citizens to avoid the following six Mexican states due to high crime and violence: Colima, Guerrero, Michoacan, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas.
