The woman does have the right to be angry.
According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of gas has reached $5.014 per gallon, the highest national average on record earlier this week.
The new record-breaking price is more than double the cost of a gallon when President Biden took office when gas was just $2.25 per gallon nationwide and is now $1.93 higher than one year ago. Gas jumped 58 cents than this time just one month ago.
Fuel prices have continued to set record highs throughout the year, and this latest milestone is no different.
Gas price records set in 2022:
- March 5: National average price of gas breaks $4/gal for the first time since 2008
- March 7: National average price of gas breaks previous record; $4.10/gal
- March 10: Average price of gasoline peaks at $4.35/gal
- April 29: Average diesel prices reach new all-time high; $5.16/gal
- May 5: March record broken; prices rise above $4.35/gal
This was entirely created by Joe Biden and Democrats.
