BREAKING: St. Louis Jury Finds Stephan Cannon Guilty in the Murder of Former St. Louis Police Captain David Dorn

by July 21, 2022
written by July 21, 2022

Retired St. Louis Police Captain David Dorn was murdered in June 2020 outside of Lee’s Pawn and Jewelry in North St. Louis City.

The killers then broke in the store and looted it as dozens of cars drove by on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.

David Dorn was 77-years-old when he was gunned down by looters.

He lay outside the store bleeding as his death was captured on Facebook Live.

St. Louis Police later arrested and charged 24-year-old Stephan Cannon with first-degree murder for the death of retired Police Captain David Dorn.

Cannon once received a 7-year sentence but didn’t serve a day in prison.

On Wednesday a St. Louis jury found Stephan Cannon guilty of first-degree murder charges for the killing of former St. Louis Police Captain David Dorn.

The Washington Examiner reports:

A man was found guilty of murder in the fatal shooting of David Dorn, a former St. Louis police captain who was killed during the 2020 summer riots.

Stephen Cannon, 26, was convicted of first-degree murder, robbery, burglary, and three counts of armed criminal action.

“I’m very thankful to the jurors who saw the truth and all the evidence,” Dorn’s wife, Ann, said outside the courthouse, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. She added, “There’s never going to be full closure, but it brings us peace.”

Ann Dorn became a public figure when she discussed her husband’s murder during the 2020 RNC.  Her husband was helping a friend of the night of Black Lives Matter protests and was murdered in the process.

Here is what the news reported this evening.
